Krento - Amazingly attractive app launcher for Windows

I'm always on the lookout for fast app launchers. No one wants to have to click on Start>All Programs, etc. But pretty is also good. This one seems to have both qualities down. (OK, I'll admit, the name isn't very catchy for English speakers, but who cares about that, right?)

QuickSYS Informer - Get the goods on your sytem's resources

Everyone ought to have an informer handy. This one will tell you all about what's going on with your system's resources. According to the developer:

It's good to keep track of your system resources so you can easily spot potential problems. For instance, say your PC is especially slow today; a quick look at your system usage may reveal that your system is running low on memory (physical or virtual). A full hard disk can be another cause of a slow PC. On another note, high network adapter usage can explain why you cannot connect to certain sites that you normally can access.

gDoc Creator – A powerful, free PDF converter

I’m always looking for free ways to print to PDF. There are several choices, but here’s one that has the power of a paid version in a free package. A small catch is that you have to install their evaluation version of dDoc Fusion along with gDoc Creator. I didn’t find that to be a dissuading factor.

Backupify - Online backup of your online presence

Sign up for the service and get it free if you sign up by January 31. From the developer:

"Your lifestream contains important data, but all those pictures, videos, documents, and blog posts are exposed to potential loss. Some web 2.0 services shut down without warning. Others are hacked. Sometimes data is lost from basic human error, or the intentional actions of a disgruntled employee. Don't put your lifestream at risk when there is a simple, easy, low cost way to back it up."

Everyday Auto Backup - The name says it all

Guess what. If backup isn't easy, very few people will do it. And they're not the kind of people you'd want to drink a beer with, most likely. So that's why the world needs simple and automated backup solutions like this one. From the developer:

"Everyday Auto Backup is an easy-to-use software designed to backup files automatically. After you added or modified a backup project, this software will immediately generate the list of today's tasks according to the project's settings. When the start time of a backup task arrives, this software will automatically start the backup task in the background without manual intervention."

One Button Merge for Google contacts

Let's face it. You're a slob. At least your Google contact list makes it seem so. Time to take all those duplicate contacts and merge them into individual contacts. OK, so it might trim things down to where it looks like you don't know very many people, but at least you'll rid yourself of the slob image.

Do It Again - Automate your frequent PC tasks

Tired of repetitive PC tasks? Just tired? This handy little macro app can make things a bit easier, saving your precious yet depleted energies for more important things. Other things, anyway. Developer sez:

"Do It Again is a free and simple program that allows you to make your computer automatically perform a task for you, whenever you want.

If there is something that you do on your computer over and over, and you do it exactly the same way every time (such as backing up your pictures, checking web-based email for new messages, etc.), you can tell Do It Again how to perform that task (by doing it once yourself to create the new task). Then you can run that task whenever you want and Do It Again will automatically click the buttons and press the keyboard keys (in exactly the same way as when you created the task), while you sit back and watch the task being performed on the screen.

This is also called macro or automation software, as it allows you to record a macro, then play it back to automate the actions of that macro."
