Free Extended Task Manager - Find unruly processes and more

I'm sitting at my computer, working away happily, when things suddenly go screwy. Moving my mouse results in hesitant, jerky movements of my pointer. Application buttons won't do anything. Time for the Task Manager.

But finding the misbehaving process with the standard Windows tool is often difficult to impossible. That's why it's good to have something more useful. From the web site:

# Displays disk input/output activity with information about related applications
# Displays network port activity with IP addresses of external computers
# Displays information about applications that utilized most of the CPU or memory at any time presented on the charts
# Displays all files locked by a select process.
# Finds all processes locking a specified file.
# Includes "Summary" tab for quickly assessing the overall state of the Windows system
# Allows freezing individual Windows processes
# Offer various visual and functional improvements over the standard Windows Task Manager

2Pad - Mine your webmail for photos and videos

I've always wanted to mine data. This is an idea whose time has come. You know you have scads of media file attachments in your webmail account, but it's a huge chore to look for them. 2Pad will comb through your emails, mining for those elusive photos and videos, then it'll show them to you in a gallery format. Very cool.

Utility Launcher - A simple, yet highly useful application

Most of us, I surmise, make use of multiple applications for a single purpose. Whether at work or at home, some applications just go together and we need them to be open at the same time. So why can't there be a really simple way to click on one icon and have them all open? Here's a good way to do exactly that. From the web site:

"Utility Launcher is a convenient launcher for clean-up and maintenance programs. You can place up to 20 utilities under a single (1) desktop icon, so they can be accessed and run quickly. This is the utility program that I use regularly to run my arsenal of third-party clean-up and maintenance programs."

Last Freeware Version - Go back to when it was free

As sold on freeware as I am, you'd think I would have found this site before. Many apps that were initially free eventually go commercial. I don't fault them for that, but I'm not happy to pay for something that used to be gratis. This site will take you to the last version of the software that was free. Excellent.
