Freeware: Visualize Your Hard Drive in a New Way

WinDirStat is a wonderful freeware utility that allows users to examine the contents of their hard drives in a whole new way. Actually, you can view your hard drive directory in 3 ways.
  • The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,
  • The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,
  • The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.
But here's the beauty part: The main window shows you your files in graphic view, as squares sized in proportion to file size. Now you can quickly see the largest files that are taking up room on your hard drive.
