Best Free Trojan Scanner/Remover

Trojans are malware that install themselves on victims' computers, sometimes by means of emails that trick the victim into opening them, or via infected web sites. One of the most common payloads of trojans is one that allows the victims' computers to be accessed remotely and harnessed into a zombie botnet, a network of computers that spammers use to send spam.

Trojans can operate without the victim ever being aware that their machine has been taken over. Needless to say, it makes sense to have adequate protection against this kind of malware.

I recommend AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5, a free, yet excellent, program for the detection and removal of trojans, as well as all other forms of malware.
